NORTHERN ROCK
Increasing demand for replica stone has resulted in Bradstone extending its market reach, particularly in the Northern counties.
Bradstone was founded in the 1950’s primarily as a producer of replica Cotswold stone to meet the growing requirements of developers looking for readily available materials. Over the years its ranges have extended and now replicate many of the 200 or more types of indigenous stone found in the UK.
As public interest in conservation and aesthetic modern development has grown, Bradstone has responded to demand for an economic and environmental alternative to natural stone - producing roofing, walling and cast stone products for specifiers wanting to use traditional looking materials but without the limitations of a natural product.
Bradstone products are now specified by a growing number of quality housebuilders who see the benefits of a reconstructed product, particularly for roofing.
Mark Barter, Commercial Manager at Structural Products commented. “Since many customers find natural stone slates increasingly hard to come by and expensive, so the market for reconstructed slates continues to expand. This is particularly seen within larger housing developments. Slates that give the appearance of natural stone are popular not only for price and availability, but because they are easier, quicker and cheaper to lay.”
Bradstone roofing range Crofters, which is now one of the best performing roofing products, combines the appearance of natural stone slate with the simplicity of using a single size. The popularity of Crofters has resulted in its use in various projects around the country, particularly the North, where its weathered appearance has helped retain the natural look of the location.
This growth in sales, predominantly in the North, has resulted in a restructuring of the Bradstone sales teams and their designated areas. Two new Territory Managers have joined the sales force - Andy Bent now covers the South-East and Scott McCracken covers the newly restructured Northern territory, which covers North Wales through to the Highlands of Scotland.
