BRADSTONE SUPPORT VILLAGE PRESERVATION
Bradstone has helped transform a small stone cottage within a Wiltshire village into a luxury modern home by supplying all external materials to match the existing 15th century natural stone.
Located in the beautifully preserved and award winning village of Steeple Ashton, contractors, Penta Homes Ltd, required a cost effective solution for the 2,000 square foot extension to each side of this traditional cottage.
Bradstone’s latest roofing range Crofter’s, and its Rough Dressed walling were chosen for their aesthetic compatibility with the existing cottage, a large medieval church and ancient natural stone buildings in the surrounding area.
Working closely with local authorities, Bradstone are used to meeting planning requirements that only approve developments whose materials match the earlier characteristics already present in the area. The very nature of Bradstone’s offering means that materials are instantly available, unlike the limitations present in the sourcing of natural stone.
Mark Barter, Commercial Manager for Bradstone Structural Products comments: “It is important that older buildings such as this are preserved in order to help retain the history and traditions of the area. Bradstone are pleased to have assisted in the further modernisation of a village well known in Wiltshire for its continued maintenance of rural heritage.”
